Will - we love these blog so much. This flower in particular is enjoyed by my coworkers and I today. What kind of flower is it? We don't think we have them in Maryland.

The flowers are (top to bottom) wild apple, wood anemone, and marsh marigold.

I photographed all three while I was up in northern MN planting trees with Grandpa.:)
