Is "Frozen Flotsam" and " Jaunty Jetsam" Scientific names that I should know, or made up words? They are beautiful, whatever they are called :-)

jet•sam (jĕt'sǝm) n. 1. Cargo or equipment thrown overboard to lighten a ship in distress. 2. Discarded cargo or equipment found washed ashore. 3. Discarded odds and ends.
